Background

Holy Family Services has a history on the Marayong site which goes back some 50 years. With the support of the Polish community, the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth established the Holy Family site with a particular focus on the education and care of the Polish community in Australia. Holy Family Services is a ministry of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, who are the Trustees and who continue to play an integral role in education, child care and aged care services on the site, working particulary closely with the secular staff in the provision of care and support services.

Holy Family Services is fully accredited under the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing and is not due for re-accreditation until 2011. We operate a comprehensive Continuous Improvement/Quality Activities program and audit everything we do in the provision of professional care services within a safe, friendly, culturally-sensitive setting.

A Board of Management oversights operation of the site, members being drawn from the community and professional ranks and the Order of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth.

Aged Care Services

* Brother Albert's Hostel (supported accommodation)

* Holy Family Polish Nursing Home (fully dependent accommodation)

In 2004 the Sisters together with the Board of Directors of Holy Family Services developed a vision for the development of Aged Care at Marayong.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide, in conjunction with our residents and their families, the children and their parents, a quality care service.

This service will be based on Christian values in the Catholic Tradition.

Hospitality, love and acceptance will form the cornerstone of Holy Family Services.

However as the Mission of the Congregation is the family and not just one national group, Holy Family Services looks forward to embracing all members of the community. Our 50 year experience of providing care and support to one ethnic group has given us an insight in how to deliver quality care. Australia apart from its original indigenious population, is made up of immigrants from all over the world, who have chosen Australia as their home. In this we have all come from somewhere else. As such we place great importance on each persons cultural and ethnic background - be it traditional aussie, european migrant or asian background.

Our Christian European traditions mean we place great importance on the various celebrations of life and family. In this if you come to Holy Family Services you become one of the family and we welcome you.

Our residents services cover:

* Full assessment of care needs

* Personalised care plans and programs

* Provision of medications ordered by the residents' personal medical practitioner

* Balanced and nutritious food services with a strong emphasis on Polish cuisine

* Assistance with all activities of daily living

* Laundry and cleaning services

As well as complete resident care services which are planned and delivered according to individual need, our programs include:

* Prayers and Communion

* Pastoral care support

* Recreational Activities

* Celebrations of Polish feasts, festivals, Holy Days

* Resident/Relative Meetings and consultations

* Family Days

* Newsletter
